How this started
This dream refused to die
Bella & Row didn't happen overnight. It happened through family illness, two pregnancies, one wild toddler with another one on the way, and a full-time job that tested everything. Life got in the way, more than once.
We're okay now. And this idea never let go. So here we are: a small Australian label making clothes the way we always wished someone would. Bella and Row is named after the two most important people in my world. The brand carries our family name and our daughter's name, and that is exactly the energy we bring to every single piece
we make.
The turth is as a mum of two, in the real world, with all the real issues so many families face, I wanted something different, I wanted quality clothing for my kids that I loved that didn't mean I need spend so much for a basic or wait for the next season to buy the previous on sale!
This brand was not born in a boardroom. It was born in the very real, very chaotic experience of dressing small humans who immediately undo every good intention you had. Kids who climb fences in their good clothes. Who draw on there clothes in the back seat with crayons. Who jump into puddles. Who are, by nature, completely feral in the best possible way. We thought: what if kids clothes actually kept up with them? What if buying something small and special felt like it mattered?
That is Bella and Row.
Made by us, in Australia
Everything we sell is designed, tested and hand decorated by us. No mass production. No warehouse churning out ten thousand identical tees. We work in small seasonal capsules that never repeat, built around natural fibres wherever we can get them.
Cotton first, always. Every stitch is intentional, and if a piece doesn't survive our own kids and our own washing machine, it doesn't ship. The Bella and Row model? We work in capsule collections. Each one is a small, complete edit of pieces that belong together. No restocks, once it's gone, it's gone.
Capsule 01
Capsule 01 is our debut, and it is built around the idea of getting back to the basics: simple silhouettes, oversized fits, and pieces that do not try too hard. Every capsule has our brand identifier: a signature smiley.
It is small, it is ours, and it will appear on every collection we ever make. Look for it.We produce strictly limited quantities. We are talking 4 to 5 pieces per colour, per size. There is no top-up order sitting in a warehouse. There is no restock email you can sign up for. When a size sells out, that is the end of that chapter. The next capsule will be completely different.
New name. New theme. New pieces. Same commitment to doing less, better.
The Philosophy Behind It All: For the Wild Ones
This is for the puddle jumpers. The mischief makers. The tiny legends who think 'no' is negotiable and mud is a lifestyle choice.
We believe in letting kids be kids. Fully, messily, loudly. Yes, they overstimulate us and it may be very annoying at times. Yes, they have an impulsive need to draw on things and eat food that immediately ends up on their front. But that is not a problem to dress around. That is just childhood.
Mismatched socks? Their choice. Tutu with rain boots? Absolutely.
Childhood is short, so let them be wild, let them be weird, let them be exactly who they are. We just make sure what they're wearing keeps up.
So we design clothes that are okay with all of it. Oversized so they have room to move and room to grow. Quality fabrics that wash well and wear well. Simple shapes that survive actual life.
We also care about the footprint we leave. By keeping production deliberately small, we avoid the waste that comes with mass production.
You are not buying something that was made by the thousand and will end up in a pile somewhere. You are buying something that was made intentionally, for kids who live intentionally, even if their intentions are mostly chaotic.
